Leader:

As I said at the beginning of our Seder, one piece of matzah, wrapped in a napkin, is hidden somewhere in the house. It is time to find it so that we can continue. Whoever finds it wins a prize!

[People leave to find the afikomen, often just children, but anyone can play. Continue once the afikomen has been found.]

The playfulness of finding the afikomen reminds us that we balance our solemn memories of slavery with a joyous celebration of freedom. As we eat the afikomen, our last taste of matzah for the evening, we are grateful for moments of silliness and happiness in our lives.

[Pass the afikomen around so that all may break off a small piece. When everyone has some, eat the afikomen.]
