And now, in our own time, we have witnessed the establishment and thriving of of the State of Israel, as it is written, “And I shall bring you into the land which I swore to give unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob and I have given it unto you as an inheritance."

We give thanks that in a time of dire peril of anti-semitism and the Holocaust, the Jewish people came together under brave leaders, gathering Jews scattered from Europe and the Middle East together. They rejuvinated the Hebrew language and culture. Enabled literature, music and dance. Established democracy, freedom, and the rule of law, even in an obtreperous, unruly and divided political landscape.  Whether we live there or not, Israel is a dear part of the Jewish people and an inspiration to the world.
