Passover is a very meaningful time for the Jewish people. It was the time when the Jews left Egypt and started having a god of there own. The story of passover is a very interesting one. The story is a very fun one to tell. It has its good parts and its bad parts but it all ends up well for the Jews. The entire passover seder is all because of the story of passover. When we think about the story of passover we also think about god a lot. With out him none of us would be at any passover seder. God saved the Jewish people from the land of Egypt when they were slaves. That is when the Jews started loving and believing in god. The passover seder has lots of steps and each step has a meaning. Like for example we eat maror because it reminds us of the bitterness that the Jews had when they were in Egypt. That is why we have the order of the seder. This is how the order goes. I am going to explain why we do each step of the seder. We drink wine because it symbolizes freedom for the Jews and that goes with the story of passover. During orchatz we wash our hands but we do not say a blessing. In karpas we take a peice of the vegtable and we dip it in salt water to remember the tears that the Jews shed. In yachatz we break the matzah in half and use the bigger half for the afikoman. In magid we sing lots of songs and explain the story of passover. In rachzah we wash our hands a second time and this time we do say the blessing. In the next two steps we bless the matzah and then we eat it. In maror we eat the bitter vegetables that reminds us of the bitter times that the Jews had in Egypt. In korech we eat a little sandwich with matzah and maror. This next step is when we finally get to eat the meal. Tzafun is when all of the kids set out top find the Afikoman the dessert. After that we say lots of prayers. In hallel and nirzah we sing lots of really fun songs that finish off the passover seder. Have a fun seder!!!
