Family.  That word can mean different things to different people.  Whether they are near or far, family means a group of people who love you no matter what.  They care about you, want the best for you and cheer your achievements.  Families ebb and flow through the years.  Babies are born, people die; there are marriages and separations.  Families are love, bent and stretched and sometimes uncomfortable, but always there.

We are all a part of our family’s tribe.  The people around this table are our family tonight.  Some of us know each and some of us are strangers (for the time being anyway!).  Go around the table, introducing yourself and say a few sentences about who you are.  These can be about things you enjoy, your job, your family or whatever you’d like to share.  There – now we’re not strangers anymore!
