Maror and Koreich

We mix bitter herbs and charoset to symbolize the sweetness of redemption from the bitterness of slavery. As we say the blessing, think of all who have done kindness for those in need during this difficult time.

ָבּ ר וּ % ַא ָתּ ה ְי ָי , ֱא - ֵ ֽה י נ וּ ֶ ֽמ ֶל % ָה ע וֹ ָל ם , ֲא ֶשׁ ר ִק ְדּ ָ ֽשׁ נ וּ ְבּ ִמ ְצ וֹ ָת י ו ְו ִצ ָ ֽוּ נ וּ ַע ל ֲא ִכ י ַל ת מ ר וֹ ר
Baruch Atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech ha-olam, asher kid’shanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu al achilat maror.

We praise God, Ruler of Everything, who made us holy through obligations, commanding us to eat bitter herbs.
