Matzah Crack

4-5 matzos

2 sticks unsalted butter

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 bag semi sweet chocolate chips

1 heaped cup chopped (toasted optional)

½ tsp sea salt flakes

Begin by arranging the matzos in a single layer on a baking sheet

Make the Toffee: Combine the butter and brown sugar in a saucepan

Bring to a boil

Pour the hot toffee over the matzos and spread into an even layer with an offset rubber spatula. Be very careful its very hot

While its still hot spread the chocolate chips into an even layer and sprinkle with chopped pecans and sea salt.

Refrigerate until firm, about 45 minutes then transfer to a cutting board and cut into squares

Eat or give as gifts
