Traditionally, at the end of a seder, we say l’shanah haba-ah b’yerushalayim, next year in Jerusalem. In the past few years, we have said instead l’shanah haba-ah b’cheroot, next year in freedom, to emphasize that our hope is that -- next year -- we can celebrate a world at peace, a just world. Others say dorten, vau mir lebn, dart iz aunzer land -- wherever I live, that is my home -- to affirm the richness of life in the Diaspora.
