Dayenu reminds us that each of our lives is the cumulative result of many blessings, small and large. It also reminds us that wherever there are ills in the world, we who have known ills, taste their bitterness and are called to address them.

May we recognize our blessings and be blessings in the lives of others. With this second cup of wine, we remember promises made to us and make promises to build a world of peace for all people.

Baruch Atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech ha-olam, borei p’ree hagafen.

We praise God, Ruler of Everything, who creates the fruit of the vine.

[All drink the second glass of wine.]
