The Seder plate is in the middle of the table and has special foods we eat during the Seder

Bitter Herbs – reminds us of how terrible (bitter) being a slave was. 
Parsley – this is a green vegetable that represents the
spring time. This reminds us that each time something good happens for us (flowers bloom in the spring, vegetables grow).
Salt Water - to remind us of the tears when something bad happens that makes us sad.
Egg - is a symbol of a new beginning and Spring.  Passover always happens in the spring
Shank Bone - This bone represents the sacrifice, or killing of something, so that the Jewish people can be free people
Charoset - this is a mixture of apples, cinnamon and nuts.  It looks like the cement (glue) used by Hebrew slaves to build Egyptian structures.
