The Australian White Ibis is not-so-affectionately refered to as a "bin chicken" by locals for its habit of scavenging food from the local human population. They've recently set thier sights on a different type of prey: the rather poisionus cane toad. Local ecologists are thrilled because the cane toad is very invasive; the toads are a classic case of "they introduced an animal to australia to take care of a ''problem' and it totally got out of hand, obviously". The ibises have developed a feeding strategy which is legitimately being refered to as the "stress and wash" method. The bird will toss and flick its prey around, which causes the freaked out toad to release all its toxins. Then the ibis will go and rinse the toad in water or wipe it through wet grass and possibly repeat the process. This leaves them with a safe and tasty treat which they then swallow whole.
